There are 3 modern operation theatres which include a separate theatre to operate just on infected cases. Our surgical team includes well-trained and experienced surgeons who have been trained in Nepal, China, Germany, Belgium and Australia. The operation theatres are equipped with state of the art anaesthesia machines, modern monitors, fracture tables and c-arm fluoroscopes to augment accuracy during surgery. A modern and well-equipped post-operative station helps in further monitoring of patients during critical post-operative periods. More than 2,200 surgeries are performed annually.
The surgeries are performed six days a week by two units. Unit I operates on Monday, Wednesday and Friday while Unit II operates on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. There are altogether seven orthopaedic surgeons and ten medical officers in the surgical team and 5 more orthopaedic surgeons working as volunteers. There are 3 anasthetists working to run the operating theaters along with anaesthetist assistant nurses, scrub nurses and floor nurses. The surgery is assisted by the use of two c-arm fluoroscopes and one portable x-ray machine.
General trauma surgery, paediatric clubfoot surgery, other deformities, spinal surgeries, Ilizarov surgeries, SIGN surgeries, arthroscopy, arthroplasty and plastic, hand, foot and ankle surgeries are done routinely by the surgical team.
Also every year visiting teams from the US and around the world come for surgical camps to perform charitable foot and ankle missions as well as hip and knee arthroplasties.
